Sports Medicine

The Hiram Sports Medicine Program services all athletic programs at Hiram High School. The Sports Medicine Program is responsible for the prevention, acute care, rehabilitation, education and counseling of Hiram High School athletes concerning their athletic injuries. Under the leadership of Kelley Etheridge, a certified Athletic Trainer, Hiram athletes are cared for by a staff of athletic training student assistants. Athletes visit the training room for a variety of reasons from the most minor of injuries to the most serious fractures.

In the event of an injury, whether at practice, game or away from school, early intervention is key. Therefore it is important to communicate any injury/health related problem with a coach and trainer so proper treatment can be initiated. A quick return of the player to their sport is strived for but the “safe” return is most important.

It is the mission of the Hiram Sports Medicine Program to continually provide the best possible athletic health care to student-athletes. Those involved work tirelessly to bring the latest knowledge currently available in the fields of athletic training and sports medicine to our student-athletes.
